Ride Notes

My final chance to keep the RRtY streak going.

Early start in beautiful weather with a lovely full-ish moon (Waning Gibbous I think?).

The climb up the Gorge was largely undisturbed apart from the sheep and goats and the run into Wells across the Mendips and down the main road was lovely.

Skirted Glastonbury and Pilton for a coffee stop in Castle Cary, then on to Sherborne and the lumpy bit towards Crewkerne inclluding meeting up with a famous 30s Movie Star (ask Guy) . The ride was then interrupted by a curve ball from home - I was assured that I should continue but I resolved not to have a cafe stop and made do with a lovely slice of quiche and a can from the shop in Shepton Beauchamp.

Onwards towards the Quantocks and a climb up to Broomfield. By now the wind was up and it was a bit of a cold slog - rewarded by a descent into Bridg down Dancing Hill.

Final wiggle up and over the Poldens and a tail wind home.
