Ride Notes
The penultimate ride on RRtY for this season.
The day started rather cold and grey, with a distinct Autumnal feel. After a loop around WsM and Sand Bay I headed for Burrington Coombe as the first climb of the day - suffice to say I didn’t challenge any of the times from the Hill Climb on Sunday.
The first stop was a new one - Holcombe Farmshop & Kitchen - and very nice it was too. From there the route took me to Gare Hill via Nunney and then on to Bruton and eventually Sherborne for the second stop.
I was flagging a little so the coffee and flapjack were very welcome!
The next section around Yeovil via the ‘Cokers’ and ‘Chinnocks’ is horribly lumpy but things improved after Merriot with the only climb left up to High Ham.
So, 11 down and 1 to go…. looking forward now to getting RRtY x 5 done.
